Nestling in the grounds of the owners’ home, it lies close to 60 acres of set aside land and Thornham Walks for dog walking, horse riding, easy rambles and watching the local wildlife, whilst the surrounding quiet country lanes offer lovely cycling. Just 3 miles away is the historic little town of Eye, and arts and music venues, a steam museum and plant centre are under 7 miles. The cathedral, castle, museums, theatre, cinema and excellent shopping in medieval Norwich city; Southwold; Walberswick; RSPB Minsmere and fish and chips at the beachside cafe by Dunwich Heath (NT) are all within an easy drive. Locally brewed cider and chocolates on arrival. Shop and pub serving food 200 yards.

This beautiful county is situated to the south of Norfolk, with Cambridgeshire to the west, Essex to the south, and the North Sea to the east. It has much to offer the visitor, including the wetlands of the Broads, the Wool Towns, and a coastal strip to the east known as “The Sandlings”. There are over 5000km of marked paths as well as national cycle routes, along with country parks, nature reserves such as the Trimley Marshes, and picnic sites.
Suffolk’s notable towns include Ipswich (the county town), Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.
West Suffolk is famed for its archaeological discoveries, especially that at Sutton Hoo in 1939. A grassy mound was found to be a ship burial ground containing a collection of Anglo-Saxon treasures, including a Sword of State, a shield, a helmet, gold and silver bowls, jewellery and a lyre. The site is now owned by the National Trust.
